A blustery New Years Eve

January 3, 2011

Our family decided to stay in for New Years this year since there was a pretty good chance of a blizzard heading our way. There was talk of it all week, so we readied ourselves for a pretty uneventful New Years Eve!When I got up the morning of New Years Eve it did not seem that bad outside. Living and growing up in a Northern state, I have seen much worse. This storm  was a little delayed in our part of the state.About an hour later the wind really picked up and the snow really started coming down! Luckily we were all snug in our nice warm house…well sort of!Kirby and Dexter are required to go outside to do their “business”. Every time it was time to go outside, this is the look that Kirby would give you. Like me he hates the cold and pouts when he has to go out in to it!The boys spent the day playing Wii, wrestling around, watching movies and cheering for Notre Dame in the Sun Bowl!Speaking of the SUN, there is no sun to be seen here! It just kept getting worse outside, you cannot even make out the vehicle across the street anymore!

As for me…I recently learned how to knit, so I spent the day practicing! I also took pictures and did the regular mom stuff (meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, etc.) It was fun to have a lazy, relaxing day with my family with no plans. Sometimes it is overwhelming how much we have going on all the time. This day was for us and I really wish we had more like it!

Hope you all have a Happy New Year!

Glad you had a great day! We got the first snow in the city on Christmas Eve and it was beautiful! We have some on the ground now too- I love it!
